Are you suffering with fat ankles or maybe fat legs? When asked many men said they thought of a womans ankles and legs as one of the most erotic parts of her body. You might have heard of men saying they are a leg man or breast man or whatever. But to many women who are not blessed with super model legs they are a constant source of insecurity.
But their very nature a womans legs are often one of the most seen parts of their bodies it can really be no suprise that they are also the area of the body most women do their best to hide when in their eyes they are ‘not perfect’.So much so that women who believe they have fat legs will often avoid wearing short dresses and skirts in an attempt to hide them
It might suprise you to know that many women who have fat legs or ankles can do nothing about it as it has been shown in various surveys that some women are just naturallymore predisposed genetically to fat legs or fat ankles. But still women will use just about any form of diet and exercise to try and eliminate their problem.
Unfortunately fat stored in the ankles and and legs is pretty hard to move by diet and exercise alone. This has led to a huge increase in the number of women who look to plastic surgeons for ankle liposuction and leg liposuction for the answer.
Ever considered Liposuction? It is a common procedure carried out by cosmetic surgeons. How it works is few small incisions are made around the ankles and legs and the fat is removed this way by a vacum pump. Afterwards the period of recovery can be around 28 -42 days whilst the surgery is healing. This procedure is not cheap and you would expect to pay anything from $4000 and up and should be seen as a last ditch attempt to get rid of fat when all else has failed.
Of course with a surgical procedure the risks cannot be ignored which is made more sigificant by the fact that the legs and ankles do not hold deep pockets of fat and the fat that accumulates here tends to be rather more superficial. The consequence of this is it tends to be harder to remove than fat from other locations of the body.
Although losing fat form the ankles and legs may not be as effective as in some other areas of the body it should still not be discounted. Here are a number of ways you might like to try before trying the more radical comsetic surgery options?
-Cut down on your sugar intake this also applies to the use of sugar substitutes such as Sweet and Low and those sweetners used in diet soda’s such as Aspartame.
-Cover up your legs wear thick tights or socks and when the weather is exceptionally cold maybe leg warmers as well as when very cold wear pants rather than skirts or dresses if they are accepted in your working environment.
-Drink 8-10 glasses of water daily. If you are a coffee drinker increase that further to around 12-14 especially if you drink quite a lot of coffee.Water flushes out the toxins in your body which helps prevent water retention and encourages fat loss.
-Eat a diet richer in protein than you do right now, whilst you should continue to eat a balanced diet try increasing your intake of protein foods as this helps the body retain less fat.
-A simple exercise you can do when sat down watching TV or at work is to rotate your foot in a cirular motion for about ten rotations in each direction clock wise and anti clockwise for each foot. This exercise can usually easily be done under a desk discretly at work.
-Take a look at another article I have written recently about having sexier legs, you can read it here http://www.dreambodynow.com/want-sexier-legs-follow-these-tips-to-succeed/ you will find some of these tips are also very effective.
one last tip … It could be your swollen ankles are due to fluid being retained around the ankle. If you suspect this may be the case (ie it feels sort of squashy aroud the joint) then consult your Doctor who will probably supply you with a diuretic which will make you go to the bathroom more and should help remove any excess fluid from the body.
Hope this helps in some way for you, remember though, trying to lose weight in one area is not as easy as it sounds, perhaps an overall weight loss plan might be your best bet.
