One of the best treatments for acid reflux and back pain is simple - vinegar. The most natural and safe ways of treating your acid reflux and back pain together is to drink a tablespoon of vinegar each day, preferably in the morning. This helps by basically slowing the overproduction of acid in your stomach.

Apple cider vinegar can replace regular vinegar, which would taste a little better. You should take a tablespoon of it before each meal. You should begin to notice results within a few weeks, sometimes a few days. It is important that you keep taking the vinegar on a daily basis however, even after you feel an improvement, otherwise your pain will most likely return.

Another effective idea is to combine antacids and low level pain medication. Antacids will slow the acid reflux while the pain medication will work on the back pain. Antacids are such a mild form of medicine they can be taken safely in with medication such as regular back pain pills.

There are multiple over the counter and prescription drugs that are available for back pain. Acetaminophen anti-inflammatory drugs are the most commonly used, and can begin to show results in a few days.

Narcotic pain medications and some muscle relaxant drugs may be used, but these should be considered as a long-term solution, and if used for a prolonged period of time they may actually end up making the condition worse.

For those suffering from acid reflux and back pain should stay positive. There are many forms of treatment available, it is simply a manner of finding the right one for you. An experienced doctor will assist you, however its important to keep him informed as to the progress and at the same time, allow time for the treatment to take affect.
